About the role
 We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mine Site Maintenance Superintendent to join our dynamic team. In this role you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our mining operations. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of mining activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and environmental compliance.Roster: 2 weeks on 1 week off

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of mining professionals, including shift supervisors and crew members, to achieve operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and successful project delivery.
  • Manage control room operations, ensuring smooth coordination and communication between various departments and teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and corporate responsibilities related to Occupational Safety, Health, Quality, and Environment.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the day shift crew members and day/night shift supervisors, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute mining plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to drive innovation and optimize mining operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in the mining or related industry, with at least 1 year of experience as a Superintendent.
  • Applicable trade qualifications (mechanical, boilermaker or electrical)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading multi-disciplined teams.
  • Extensive technical trade knowledge and a strong background in overseeing complex projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining operations, safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and a track record of promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
